Arctic and Primorye Could Become Promising Areas under the New Tourism Development Programme

The new federal target programme for tourism development in Russia for 2019–2025 will include fifteen tourist destinations in the country, including the Russian Arctic and Primorye. This was reported by TASS, referring to the draft concept for the federal target programme, which envisages a number of activities to create specific tourist clusters in Russia.

“A distinctive feature of the programme should be selection of regional projects that facilitate development of the type of tourism corresponding to the specifics of 15 promising spheres”, the document says.

The document lists such areas as Amur, Altai, Baikal, Caspian Sea, Black Sea Coast, Primorye, Kamchatka–Sakhalin, Russian Baltic, North Caucasus, Russian Arctic, Volga Region, Volga Course, Central Russia, Russia’s Silver Necklace and the Urals.

Each of the areas has a certain specialization assigned to it.
