Chilingarov: Arctic collaboration is model of good neighbourly relations and stable policy

Speaking at the opening ceremony for the International Arctic Forum, Artur Chilingarov, Special Representative to the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctic, highlighted the significance of Arctic collaboration within the international political agenda. According to Mr. Chilingarov, the Arctic is an area of enormous importance and therefore “we need wide-ranging dialogue on environmental issues to take place up to and including at the highest levels.”

He added: “We can be proud that the countries in the Arctic region have succeeded in maintaining collaboration on the Arctic agenda. Arctic collaboration has become a model of good neighbourly relations and stable policy. One of our priorities in organizing this forum was to provide an opportunity for us to listen to each other.”
