Roscongress, Akvaplan-niva agree to cooperate

The Roscongress Foundation and Norwegian research and consulting company Akvaplan-niva signed a cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the Fourth International Arctic Forum on March 29, 2017.

A Norwegian company organizes the Arctic Frontiers conference, which is held in the city of Tromsø. It is an annual arena for discussing the prospects for Arctic development and serves as a meeting place for members of the European Union, representatives of various interested organizations, and leading scientists and experts.  More than 2,000 delegates take part in the conference, from 34 countries located within and beyond the Arctic region.

The signed document opens up a broad range of opportunities for effectively promoting Arctic issues within the framework of the events organized by the parties – the International Arctic Forum in Russia and the Arctic Frontiers conference in Norway.

The main areas of cooperation between the companies were identified such as developing long-term partnership relations between Russian and Norwegian expert and business circles and maintaining dialogue on cooperation in the investment and financial sectors, export and import activities as well as tourism and cultural interaction.

Alexander Stuglev, the Roscongress Foundation Director, emphasized that the two companies have reached an agreement on the provision of mutual consultation, information, and export support on topical issues of the Arctic agenda, establishing cooperation on the organization of joint events on this issue, and attracting respectable participants to business events organized by the Roscongress Foundation. The areas of cooperation are expected to be diversified in the future.

“We are pleased to lay a strong foundation for cooperation with the Roscongress Foundation, which has started with the symbolic signing ceremony as part of the ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ International Forum in Arkhangelsk, a northern city with rich history and  key role in the Arctic development.  The company was given the honour of participating in the second Forum, which took place in 2011 in Arkhangelsk. During that same year, Akvaplan-niva jointly with its Russian colleagues organized a series of events in Tromsш entitled ‘Lomonosov–Nansen’ devoted to the anniversaries of these great scientists and researchers of the Arctic region. We are prepared to further strengthen cooperation between our forums to promote the development of business and scientific educational programmes in the Arctic”, Akvaplan-niva Director Salve Dahle noted.

The Roscongress Foundation is a major operator of convention and exhibition events in Russia.

The Roscongress Foundation was  founded in 2007 with the aim of helping to develop Russia’s economic potential and strengthen the country’s image by organizing congresses and exhibitions with an economic and social focus. The Foundation develops the substantive content for these events, and provides companies with advice, information, and expert guidance, as well as offering comprehensive evaluation, analysis, and coverage of the Russian and global economic agenda.

Today, its annual agenda includes events held in locations ranging from Montevideo to Vladivostok, which bring together global business leaders, experts, the media, and government officials to create favourable conditions for dialogue and the promotion of new ideas and projects, and to assist in the creation of social enterprises and charity projects.
