Russia and seven other countries sign statement on emergency maritime response cooperation

At the Arctic Coast Guard Forum in Boston (USA) last Saturday, Russia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the United States signed a joint statement on cooperation in the event of maritime emergencies in the Arctic and combined operations in the region.

According to the news release published on the United States Coast Guard website, the statement adopts doctrine, tactics, procedures, and information-sharing protocols in order to foster safe, secure, and environmentally responsible maritime activity in the Arctic.
