A delegation from Italy to take part for the first time in the Eastern Economic Forum
A meeting has taken place in Moscow between Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov and Italian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Pasquale Terracciano. The discussion covered participation by an Italian delegation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (6–8 June) and the Eastern Economic Forum (4–6 September).
The Italian Ambassador highly appraised the quality and standard of the international events held in Russia with the support of the Roscongress Foundation, noting their role in developing the co-operation between the countries.
“In 2018, events of the Russian Seasons project were held with great success in Italy, drawing over seven million visitors. Of particular significance are international business forums providing a platform for high level meetings and acting as a catalyst to the signing of important agreements. In particular, the International Arctic Forum, which recently came to a close in St. Petersburg, was attended by a delegation of businessmen from Italy”, Terracciano emphasised.
“Joint Russian-Italian events as a part of leading economic forums confirm the importance of the bilateral partnership between our countries along business lines and also testify to leadership on the collaboration space between the EU and the EurAsEC. I am convinced that the Roscongress Foundation events, particularly the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum, will promote further growth of effective political, economic and humanitarian dialogue between our countries”, Kobyakov noted.
The parties considered the formats for participation by the delegation from Italy in the SPIEF and EEF events in 2019. The Italian diplomat noted that top executives of major Italian companies, are expected to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
As part of the SPIEF 2019 business programme, it is planned to hold a Russian-Italian small and medium-sized business roundtable and forum with participation by representatives of Italy’s business community.
The Italian Ambassador, in particular, noted that the Italian delegation is considering the opportunity to take part in the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok for the first time.
