Roscongress Foundation and Project Office for the Development of the Arctic to launch new project on social media
A range of informative and entertaining content by the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic will be posted on the ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ International Arctic Forum’s social media groups.
The Project Office for the Development of the Arctic is to help the Roscongress Foundation highlight the cultural, natural, and historical riches to be found in the Russian Arctic.
One such online initiative – the Arctic Cinema – has already been launched by the Foundation. The Arctic Cinema features the very best films about the region’s unique environment, history, and culture. Now, it will also feature content by the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic. Correspondents and educational specialists from the organization will teach viewers how to play games from the region and how to cook national dishes. They will also give lessons on traditional dances of the indigenous peoples of the Arctic, and read fairy tales from the north. There are also plans to publish historical articles and photo reports from GoArctic.ru, as well as general knowledge quizzes on the Arctic, and educational and fun virtual ecological guides for children and adults.
“The Arctic appears both distant and enticing. However, it’s also a difficult place to get to, unfortunately. We want to give internet users the chance to go on a virtual tour of the Far North. During this period of self-isolation, an initiative like this seems particularly fitting. We are delighted to have teamed up with the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic in order to promote the Arctic agenda. We plan to sign an official cooperation agreement in the future,” said Director of the ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ International Arctic Forum Oksana Poletimova.
“The International Arctic Forum is a stand-out event for discussing a wide range of Arctic-related issues. We are of course happy to share with our colleagues a large amount of interesting content which we have collected. I am delighted that we have begun this partnership on social media and the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic at Home website,” said Head of PR and Social Media at the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic Daria Prusakova.
“The Project Office for the Development of the Arctic and the Roscongress Foundation plan to work more closely together. We are currently using social media and sharing news on current topics. In the future, our organizations will participate in each other’s ambitious projects. We have a great many interesting and inspiring ideas ahead of us, which will undoubtedly help build a lasting and fruitful partnership,” said Media Coordinator at the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic Marina Goretskaya.
