The 50 Years of Victory nuclear icebreaker set a record for the fastest voyage from Murmansk to the North Pole, completing the journey in 79 hours. The travel time was more than twice as fast as the Arctic nuclear-powered ship in 1977, when the first surface ship reached the North Pole.
