International Arctic Forum to Take Place in St. Petersburg

According to the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ 6th International Arctic Forum will be held in St. Petersburg in 2021. The Forum will be organized by the Roscongress Foundation.

“Holding the 6th International Arctic Forum during the year of Russian Chairmanship in the Arctic Council is of special importance. This event will help bring together efforts by officials, international organizations, and representatives of scientific and business communities of Russian and other countries for an open discussion of the most pressing issues of sustainable development of the Arctic region”, noted Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.

The International Arctic Forum will serve as a key platform for discussing relevant issues of the socio-economic development of Arctic territories and working out multilevel and multilateral mechanisms for joint unlocking and efficient development of the massive resource potential.

Information: The International Arctic Forum 2019 gathered over 3,600 participants from 52 countries. The most representative delegations were from China, Norway, Finland, Sweden, the USA, Denmark, Iceland, Canada and Japan. The Forum saw the signing of 45 agreements totaling 69.8 billion roubles (including agreements whose monetary sum is not a trade secret).
