Rosatom proposes joint development of Pavlovskoye deposit with Sweden’s Boliden
Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation expects to involve partners in the development of the Pavlovskoye lead-zinc ore deposit in Novaya Zemlya and has proposed jointly developing the deposit with Sweden’s Boliden, Rosatom Director General Alexei Likhachev told TASS news agency in an interview.
“A private investor could also be directly involved in work at the deposit, specifically the Swedish company Boliden. No final agreement with the company on the joint development of the Pavlovskoye deposit has been reached as of today. But we are forming a diversified package of partners for investment in the development of the lead-zinc ore deposit. For us it is important to strengthen our investment resources in this project through our partners”, he said.
Likhachev noted that total investment in the project, including the construction of port infrastructure, will exceed RUB 20 billion. The construction of port infrastructure is estimated at RUB 5–6 billion. Rosatom plans to secure government support to build transport infrastructure to work on the project.
